High Maintenance, originally produced for Blue Ant Media’s Smithsonian Channel, has been picked up by National Geographic Channel in Poland, Hungary, Romania and Asia, LRT in Lithuania, Discovery in the US and Latin America, Koch Media in Germany and Iberian sales house Luk Internacional S.A..
The 8 x 60’ series takes a fascinating look behind the scenes and meets the maintenance and repair teams responsible for keeping some of the world’s most impressive super-structures safe, including the Sir Adam Beck Hydroelectric Generating Stations at Niagara Falls, the Montreal Metro and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway in California. Executive Producers for Frantic Films are Jamie Brown and Jeff Peeler.
Meanwhile, true crime series Killer in Plain Sight, originally commissioned by Investigation Discovery, has been sold to Hulu in the US, Crime + Investigation in Germany, Austria, German-speaking Switzerland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and Alto Adige and Koch Media for distribution cross the UK, Malta, Gibraltar, the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Republic of Ireland. German sales house Palatin will license the show across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and Alto Adige.
The 52 x 30’ series is a riveting whodunit, featuring disturbing cases of murder where the detectives look at all those involved as a suspect, and must filter the lies from the truth in order to crack the case. It’s only when the perpetrator is caught that we realise they were there all along, right before our eyes: the loved one making an emotional appeal, the neighbour who helped in the search, the family friend who gave an interview, while all the time they had blood on their hands. In February this year, Jamie Brown signed an agreement to repurchase a 100% stake in Frantic Films from Kew Media Group, which previously owned the company from March 2017.
