CHANNEL 4 ACQUIRES TWO TRAVEL SERIES FROM ROCK OYSTER MEDIA
Rock Oyster Media confirms Martin and Roman’s Irish Road Trip and Oti & Richard's South African Odyssey have been acquired by Channel 4.

In Oti & Richard's South African Odyssey, South African-born dancer Oti Mabuse will return home with her brilliantly unexpected companion, Reverend Richard Coles - priest, pop star, philosopher, and unapologetic fan of a scenic train journey and a well-brewed tea. Oti will take Richard on a trip around her homeland in a beautiful homecoming journey, supported by South African Tourism.

Expect a musical, messy, very human road trip bursting with dance, laughter, colour and deep friendship in this breath-taking travel series.

Oti & Richard's South African Odyssey (4 x 60’) will be executive produced by Charlotte Davis, David Nottage & Neil Edwards. The Producer/Director is Chris Williams and Head of Production is Caroline Allan.

Martin and Roman’s Irish Road Trip, supported by Tourism Ireland,  sees the father-son iconic duo set off on a personal journey embarking on a road trip across the island of Ireland, diving into its deepest myths and folklore, and discovering how the stories we inherit shape the people we become. Along the way, they talk about family, legacy, and how the threads that tie us together - whether it’s music, memories, or shared history - can stretch across generations.

The series will give Martin and Roman time to laugh, reflect, and reconnect - away from the noise of life, and in the company of landscapes rich with history.  Martin Kemp is a much-loved musician, actor, presenter and author, and son Roman Kemp is one of the country’s most established broadcasters and presenters.

Julie Wakley, Tourism Ireland's Head of Great Britain, said: “Tourism Ireland is delighted to be supporting this exciting new series and we look forward to tuning in to follow Martin and Roman as they explore the ancient stories, traditions and culture that make the island of Ireland unique. Their journey will also highlight our stunning scenery and rich heritage, capturing viewers’ imaginations and inspiring them to come and explore the island of Ireland for their next holiday.”

Martin and Roman’s Irish Road Trip (3 x 60’) will be executive produced by Charlotte Davis, David Nottage & Neil Edwards. The Producer/Director is Ben Cole and Head of Production is Caroline Allan.

Both series were ordered for Channel 4 by Senior Acquisitions Manager, Rachel Bailey.

Charlotte Davis, Creative Director, Rock Oyster Media, said: “Whilst Oti & Richard’s South African Odyssey and Martin and Roman’s Irish Road Trip will capture epic journeys, untamed lands and beautiful traditions, what is really at the heart, is something so much more poignant: friendships. Father-and-son, cross-generational best friends - these series tell the tale beautifully that life can be quite simply about who you share it with.”

TX dates are yet to be confirmed.

International distribution will be handled by Sphere Abacus.
