When quaint guesthouses, charming seaside cottages and bustling B&Bs become the site of horribly violent crimes, it becomes hard for people to think anywhere is safe… even the idyllic holiday retreats.
Each episode investigates a standalone case, ranging from historic cold cases to headline-grabbing modern-day killings. The storytelling of each programme hinges on drawing intimate interviews from key contributors, blending in archival footage for an immersive experience and evocative recreations or general visuals to complement the narrative. The contrast between serene settings and shocking violence provides a haunting backdrop, keeping audiences gripped from beginning to end.
Check-In to Murder taps into a uniquely British juxtaposition: the familiar charm of the idyllic and quaint holiday retreat… but with a twisted side lurking in the shadows.
