Based on award-winning playwright Kat Sandler’s hit play, Yaga reimagines the Baba Yaga myth as a dark, seductive whodunnit set in a fog-soaked coastal town, where everyone has something to hide and some secrets are centuries old.
When a private investigator arrives to solve the disappearance of the heir to a powerful fishing dynasty, he’s pulled into a web of rivalries, forbidden desire, buried histories, and ancient magic. He clashes with a guarded local detective, becomes entangled with a provocative university professor, and navigates a labyrinth of suspects whose quiet lives conceal dangerous truths.
We think we know Baba Yaga: the ugly crone in a hut on chicken feet, devourer of bone, villain of bedtime stories. But Yaga asks a radical question: what if the witch was never the monster?
Starring Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix, Memento), Hudson Williams (Heated Rivalry), Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek) and Clark Backo (Letterkenny, The Changeling), Yaga is part dark fairy tale, part prestige crime thriller – a revenge series for our time that is seductive, surprising, and unapologetically bold, Yaga finally gives voice to the legend herself.
