Expect twists, turns, false leads and truly inspired detective work as we follow the extraordinary cases taking shape on the detectives’ own murder wall.
Intriguing and original, Murder Wall tells past-tense stories of baffling murder cases in which the detectives’ own murder wall – a physical assembly of evidence and clues used as a visual aid – played a crucial part in solving the crime.
In each closed-ended episode, the growing and evolving murder wall is a motif that features throughout the show. As new pieces of evidence, new witnesses and new leads are found they are added to the wall. Some go nowhere, but others prompt the vital leaps of imagination that help the cops bring the murderer to justice.
The murder wall device is much more than just a gimmick or hook: experienced cops say there is a real art to constructing and using one. It drives the investigation and is central to the narrative twists and turns of case. Populated with photographs, documents, maps, time lines, evidence samples and more, the murder wall allows investigators to retain a visual image of all the disparate elements of a case, often running into hundreds of items, and make crucial connections that would otherwise be missed.
As each murder wall takes shape, the audience can’t help but place themselves in the shoes of the detectives – looking for connections and anomalies that will open up a path to the killer or killers. With high-end drama recreations and powerful documentary testimony from the investigators involved, journalists and the family and friends of the victims, Murder Wall will engage viewers in a highly original and compelling way.
Across ten episodes, Murder Wall will put the viewer at the center of challenging and complex murder investigations to witness how investigators have used their own variations of murder walls to solve the case, put a killer behind bars and bring justice and closure for the victim and their family.
