IRAN: THE PEOPLE'S STORY

This is the inside story from Iran that nobody is hearing, the story most media think can’t be told.

This film tells the story of Iranians who have lived through the most turbulent and traumatic of years - widespread street protests, a brutal crackdown by the authorities and a war launched against Iran by the US and Israel.

The film follows one mother who begins the year planning a future with her daughter only to see it end with a promise to avenge her daughter’s death. After she publicly blamed the Iranian authorities, she was forced to flee the country and live in exile.

A medic reveals how his life has changed after treating hundreds of protesters, many with gunshot wounds, while a man who also fled Iran in fear, shares the last messages from a relative, sentenced to death.

Filming both inside and outside the country – raw and uncompromising, this is the story of a year in Iran, told by some of the people who were there.
