RADIAL ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES PREMIERE OF NEW TRUE CRIME ANTHOLOGY SERIES CASE FILES: DARK WATERS
Radial Entertainment, a leading global distribution company, in collaboration with Sphere Abacus, a Bell Media Company, has premiered a gripping new true crime series, CASE FILES: DARK WATERS (aka. BODY IN THE WATER). The series is now available on the FilmRise channel across streaming devices and apps in the U.S. and Canada.

A production of Yeti Television, the CBS AMC Networks UK Channels Partnership, a joint venture between Paramount Global and AMC Networks International UK, and Radial Entertainment’s Shout! Studios, CASE FILES: DARK WATERS examines murder investigations where killers disposed of their[CG1]  victims in bodies of water in an attempt to conceal their crimes. Across 10 one-hour episodes, the series unpacks the forensic challenges and the murderer’s psychological motivation[CG2]  behind these chilling, watery cases.

Each episode takes viewers inside the investigative process surrounding a wide range of aquatic crime scenes – from bathtubs to swimming pools, to [CG3] alligator-infested creeks, swamps, open lakes, and coastal shorelines. Featuring insights from water-forensic specialists as well as criminal psychologists and pathologists, CASE FILES: DARK WATERS reveals the unique difficulties that plague experts in their search for truth and justice, including how evidence can be distorted, destroyed, or preserved in water, and why these cases often become urgent races against time.

“CASE FILES reflects how true crime audiences are engaging with the genre today,” said Cristina Guggino, Vice President of Co-Productions & Content Partnerships at Radial Entertainment. “The series is designed as an anthology, with each season built around a clear investigative lens and stand-out cases. The debut season, DARK WATERS, centers on cases where water complicates the search for answers, and expert analysis is the key to uncovering the truth.”

Jonathan Ford, Managing Director, Sphere Abacus adds “Viewers are deeply engaged by real murder stories, and this gripping true crime series will not disappoint. We are certain that this series, which features forensics, investigations and accountability, will be a huge success when it debuts on the FilmRise channel.”

Sam Rowden, Vice President, Content Group, AMC Networks International – UK, said: “CASE FILES: DARK WATERS offers a compelling exploration of investigations where perpetrators believed water would erase the evidence of their crimes. Through rigorous forensic expertise, the series shows how those assumptions are dismantled and justice ultimately delivered – the very elements that continue to drive true crime audiences. We’re excited to partner once again with Yeti Television, Radial Entertainment, and Sphere Abacus on a project with strong international appeal, including in the UK, where the season is available under the title BODY IN THE WATER.”

Among the headline U.S. cases featured in CASE FILES: DARK WATERS is “The Bathtub Killer,” which charts the unraveling of a seemingly perfect North Carolina family after a mother of three is found drowned at home. When the husband’s second wife later dies in a nearly identical hot-tub “accident,” investigators uncover a chilling pattern that transforms suspected tragedy into a double murder investigation. Also highlighted is “Body in the Bag,” a Florida case ignited when jet skiers discover a murdered woman stuffed inside a duffel bag washed ashore. As detectives peel back layers of deception, a secret affair with a married military police officer—and a single piece of forensic evidence—leads them to a killer who believed the water would hide his crime.

CASE FILES: DARK WATERS (10 x 60’)

Episode 1: A Finding in the Loch

Police divers training in Loch Lomond, Scotland discover human body parts. But when their prime suspect goes on the run, detectives face a battle to put the killer behind bars.

Episode 2: Body in the Bag

A murdered woman is found in a duffle-bag washed up on the Florida coast. Her married, military lover is the prime suspect – and a single gold earring seals his fate.

Episode 3: Body at the Dock

A body is found floating at a dock in a North Florida creek. Police initially suspect a motive of robbery, but the victim’s complex love life suggests this is a crime of passion.

Episode 4: Sunk in the Lake

A drought at a French lake reveals a sunken Toyota holding the body of a British ex-pat who’s been missing for two years. Her controlling husband becomes police’s [CG4] prime suspect.

Episode 5: The Bathtub Killer

A woman allegedly drowns in the bathtub, but her husband's story doesn't add up. When his second wife drowns in a hot tub two years on, police’s worst fears are confirmed.

Episode 6: Body on the Shore

A missing woman’s body is found washed up on the shore of a tidal estuary. CCTV, DNA and a cryptic note lead investigators to her ex-partner.

Episode 7: Body in the River

When a fisherman is murdered and dumped in the River Thames, forensics link three men to the scene. But evidence lost in the river makes convicting his killers challenging.

Episode 8: Body Overboard

A woman’s husband reports her falling overboard into Lake Erie, but police suspect foul play. When her body surfaces three weeks on, it’s clear this was no boating accident.

Episode 9: Body in the Swamp

A murdered woman is found 230 miles from home, dumped from a bridge into swampland. Was she killed by someone she met online, or by her own husband?

Episode 10: Dumped in the Creek

Police find the dismembered body parts of a missing woman in an alligator-infested creek. They must race to prove who was responsible for this gruesome killing.
