Masham is a market town nestled between the Yorkshire dales and the moors. Like many places, its high street is suffering but locals have hatched a plan to restore their derelict grocers and revitalise the town. They’re going to bring back its Victorian interior, elegant café and historic bakery.
Joiner Ian Johnson makes a start by restoring the tatty shop front, discovering beautiful period windows and the shop’s old 1900s awning hidden under decades of dirt. In the building’s old bakehouse, engineer Oli Osborne begins the process of bringing the rare Victorian oven back to life. But with no money and a building that’s falling apart, can the town come together to pull it off?
